Italian, 15th century

‘Many dogs run’ is again from the Montecassino Manuscript. On its surface, the song is about hunting dogs chasing game, but the scene holds undertones of the decay of earthly life. In the melody the hunt can be heard in the way two of the four voices ‘run’ after each other.

’Mange hunde løber’. Fra Monte-cassino-manuskriptet. Sangen handler umiddelbart om jagt-hunde, der løber efter vildtet, men jagt-motivet har undertoner af jordelivets forgængelighed. I melodien kan jagten nærmest høres i, hvordan to af de fire stemmer ’løber’ efter hinanden.
